Hi all,

Does any1 know if there is a flash player avaidable for the N97?

If i want to visit certain sites like comedycentral i get a message that i need to update my flash player with a link to adobe flash.

If i click the link i get to the site where i have to choose a operating system like windows XP or Vista, but no symbian or any other mobile thing.

Can somebody help me? thanx!

As far as I am aware, only Flash lite works with the N97 so I think you're pretty much out of luck for now... Sorry

does flash lite allow you to view videos online like adobe flash player, or is it just an app to view videos stored on the phone?

the flash player lite has nothing to do with the vidoes on the fone its made to help you watching vidoes on the net and supports you to view internet pages cant be seen only when you have a flashplayer application and its not like the flashplayer 9 which is still for computer and windows mobiles made but i saw on the net video from nokia saying n900 supports this flash application and they are planning to release something like it for nokia n97 and other fones next year in feb so you have to wait otherwise there is an internet browser called skyfire which does the same as flashplayer 9 on pc unfortinatly its still for nokia s60v3 devices like nokia n95 it doesnt support touch screen but you can still install it and use ur keyboard device but ive heard too they working on new skyfires that supports nokia n97 and 5800 xm cuz they already did one that supports htc wnad windows mobiles with touch screen support  Cool

Hi,
Unfortunately, there is still no new version of flash lite. However, there is a new web browse for the N97 called Skyfire that allows you to watch a lot of the streaming videos on the internet. Have a look on their website www.skyfire.com
Enjoy!

But be warned, SKyfire is really laggy on the N97 when watching videos. About 2 days ago i tried skyfire for my good old and faithful N95, and guess what, "NO LAG", it played videos in youtube really well, the sound was good and all. So even after over 2 years Nokia makes phones that are even worse then the earlier N series devices Cheesy, GOOOOO!!! NOKIA! ^^, so glad im getting an N900 soon!!

seriously such sad comments.....

sometimes i just regret to have replaced my N95-1 with the N97.

the N95 was really the greatest phone i've had. since the original firmware to its final upgrade there were no problems. cant say that about the N97 though.... Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

it is really true that Nokia did make better phones in the past. in terms of functionality, stability and features... the N95 was far superior.  Lips sealed
