> There are 2 ways For Updating the Firmware for the Nokia N97 Which are (FOTA & NSU):




NOTE: You'll Need a Data Connection For the Update as it will transfer Massive Data during Update so please Check the Data transfer Cost through your Network operator.

> The following Steps need to be taken when updating Your N97 Phone software from 20.2.019 or less to {V21}*:

1- Type *#0000# from the N97 home screen.
2- The Device Updates screen should Pop-Up.
3- Go to Options > Check for updates
4- You'll find the (v21.0) select it and Start update (See Photo Below).



5- Wait Until it Finished.


OR Open the Menu and follow the instruction on the Video












> For Using the (NSU) You Must Download it & install it in your PC Before Updating.

(Latest Stable Version is v1.8.10en)

> NOTE: You Must Back-up All your Phone Memory Data First (Contacts, Messages, Calender..etc). We Recommends to do this By the Nokia Nseries PC Suite V2.0

> The following Steps need to be taken when updating Your N97 Phone software from 20.2.019 or less to {V21}*:

1- Go to your PC and Launch The NN PC Suite.
3- Connect your N97 to your PC.
4- Select PC Suite Mode
5- You'll find NSU Application in the NNPC Suite List (See Photo Below).



5- open the NSU Application.
6- Click Start and select you Connecting phone (Nokia N97).
7- Click NEXT
8- Wait until it Finish Checking for NEW Software and a Window will appear telling you the Update Available for you (See Photo Below).

9- Make Sure You have Back-up All your Phone Memory data.
10- Go to you phone and Check if the Battery is Low. If it Low Charge the Phone for (30 Minuets) and get Back Again.
11- Make Sure your Phone is in General Profile.
12- Click NEXT on the NSU Window and Start Update.
13- The NSU will Download the Firmware Version {21.0}* (About 150MB) and install it Automatically.
14- When Done Click Finish and you are DONE!

WARNING: Disconnecting your Device While Updating the Firmware will cause Several Damage to your N97 and it may not Work.

> The V21 Update May delay in Middle-East & Arab Gulf but it will be available form a period of 2-3 days from the Release day (1/2/2010). Keep Checking with NSU for New Updates everyday.

I also have to update available in my country, 3 sweden, but im holding back with the update becuse everything is working fine for me now, dont want less memory on c and so on, So if someone here wants to be a guinea pig and tell me the results be my guest :=)

But other than that, does it feel any smoother?, faster?, how is the built in browser now, and the music player?

my browser support flaaaaaaaaaaaaaash after the new softwear i cant believe it i can now look to all videos ,its faster,and more smoth touch screen i start to love it now agien after i hate it and i didnt look yet to videos and pics and music player but it look great

Special thanks for you, neo cuz the right info that i wanted to know and the most important one is the flash support , cuz whatever they do nothing works like the built in browser and now with flash player , well the opera it has good interface but it doesnt support the flash we want , so fail and skyfire it was supposed to be the best browser after using it for while its a fail it only suppports watching videos not forums with flash which means if you wanna sign in to a chat forum you cant with skyfire i hope this is solved now with the new webbrowser or the add on cuz i think its not a new web browsers its an add-on on it .

i hope if any one knows if its supporting the german devices with RM 505 cuz i can update it on my other device and gonna leave the v12 on the other one just to check whats new ,

Must say, im pleased with the new fw, kinetic scrolling is smoother, the phone seems faster. And also Accuweather seems to be working better for some strange reason, the web browser is also an improvement. I would recommend this update Disturbed .

Edit: No changes on C: had the new ovi maps installed before the update, and it is still installed.
