As disturbed said, hard reset the phone, format mass memory and any installed card.
Do not install any softwares except nokia recommended and use it for couple of days, if problem still persists, try new version, and again if problem remains there, send it to nokia to get it replaced.
Cheers.

Hey Disturbed, Thank you very much, it worked, but all my stuff gone, but no biggie.

Anyway, I am sure what u said is correct, i must have downloaded something, an app or game, and that messed up my system.

What i am wondering is, all the things i download, is from the OVI store,

How can one determine if what is being downloaded will be harmfull to your device or not, because if i jst cont. being fearfull about what i get off OVI, i will end up not downloading anything, and that will be a sad thing!..

Any idea.?

Much appreciate it.

Thanks.

I got this problem too, right before my system completely Jam'd (as you can see in the previous page).

I guess, a hard reset may help? not sure.

But so far, its not happening again after i hard reset mine, eventho my hard reset was for different reasons, coz it got some virus off something i downloaded. And thats probably (not sure) whats going on with your set.

hello there,

I got a question about my n97.  OK, so you know how most phones when left idle for a set period of time the screen just goes black, to save battery life. well mine i thought used to do that before i got the upgraded software (V21).

now it just sits on showing all content on the screen all the time, except when i manually lock it of course. My question to you is, can i set a time limit, like a screen saver does for a computer?? or do i have to manually lock it every time???

i have looked everywhere on this thing. i went to settings and then display "light time-out," and set it to 30 sec. but that didnt work. help..

When uploading functions from Ovi, they seems to be directed to the phone memory as default.
When this memory (the smallest9 is nearly full, the upload is broken, reporting 'Not enough space in memory'
Since I have a  large amount of memory space in the mass memory and the extra memory, it woul be good to re-direct the uploads directly into them. How do I do that?

You need to change settings in your ovi account and select mass memory as default.
cheers.

Hi everyone,

Got a bit of a problem trying to upgrade from v20 to v21, when I connect to the software update on my PC (which I also upgraded to latest version) it recognises my phone and version and advises that v21 is available.
So when I begin the upgrade the first time it started downloading and got to 121mb and stopped and said something about my usb hub (but I tried in all and no diff) so then it asks if I want to try gain so I try and now its stuck at 141mb which is now the same everytime I try with the same message.

Any help would be great

Thanks

I bought a nokia n97 last year while in Italy. I’m working in Ethiopia now but facing the problem of updating the firmware from V20.0.019 to V21.0.045. i installed the latest version of OVI suite from which i'm not able to complete the download of the firmware. After downloading the 135 MB, the OVI suite shows an increased value of the download. 62250MB/135 MB, while the downloading process  continue indefinetely.  I’m using a shared bandwidth of 512/512 in my office. Please your help will be appreciated.
