These instructions were taken from another forum but I adapted them to our N97s.

The original post can be found here http://forum.dailymobile.se/index.php?topic=1013.0

This is not a joke, after this configuration your phone will have a very quick menu.

(1st click on the Clock then options/ settings & Set the current date to 01.05.2005 then exit)

Now click on the Date to open the calendar app & create the following two To-do notes  in the following order:

 1. Options

    *new entry
    *To-do note
    *Subject: Speed
    * Due Date: 04.08.2005
    *Priority: High
    *Done

2. Options

    *new entry
    *To-do note
    *Subject: Qoukie
    *Due Date: 04.08.2005
    *Priority: Low
    *Done

Do not close the calendar!

Go to “options/open”

Highlight “Speed” Go to  *Options / Mark as Done.

Highlight “Qoukie”  Go to Options / Mark as Done.

Options /  Exit.

You are done.  Now go fix the current date back .

From now on this should speed up the navigation menu significantly & also the photo gallery .

After a reboot or reset of the phone, the effect is lost & everything must be repeated

*This is for all s60 Devices.
Fin..

I don’t know. This could be a placebo effect.
I  don’t have any real way of testing this but it seems to be working .Tell me what you guys think.

My navigation software seems to be loading faster.
I think I'm really seeing a difference.

One of the guys said that a videogame that was unplayable suddenly became playable.
So that's one way to test it.

But in the end even if it is a placebo effect I say go with it  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Well, let's say there was a difference in the phone but my eyes couldn't notice any difference anyway. But  think it still needs some testing, going to try it with the vbagx tomorrow and see.

The only way for us to know for sure is if somebody tests it before they do it.

Gonna test it with different apps, games by comparing loading times and so on. That is if the trick dissapers after reboot, if it doesn't then i cant compare ^^

Stopwatch & open an app several times that takes a bit of time to load.
